An Evening of Choral Music for Trinity Sunday

posted 25 Apr 2013, 11:28 by St. Thomas' Church Aboyne

The St Thomas’s Augmented Choir is back in action, with over twenty singers this time. We have started rehearsing, and will continue after the Easter holidays for the event on the evening of Sunday 26th May. This is later than usual, largely because Easter is so early.

The main work will be Mozart’s Missa Brevis K 49. We will also sing Purcell’s ‘Bell anthem’, ‘Rejoice in the Lord alway’, and Stanford’s ‘If ye then be risen with Christ’ There will also be a Reading and a couple of suitable hymns for everyone to sing.

The music is lovely, and not difficult to listen to, and there will be refreshments afterwards, making it a good social occasion. We hope that lots of people will want to come and join us for this.

Note that the Augmented Choir will also be in action for an Evening of Praise during the Aboyne and Deeside Festival, on Sunday, 28th July. Do come!
