Other Notices

  1. Message from Sue: Activities for Children on Easter Sunday - On Easter Sunday we are running a special STomp at the Community Centre – partition area upstairs through the cafeteria. It will start at 10 am and will include the Easter story, some food and drink and the chance to make some Easter crafts and some music. Anyone is welcome and can stay as long as they want. STomp and the activities at the Community Centre will extend through the beginning of the 11.15 am Easter communion celebration. The children will come over to the church to do an Easter egg hunt, before joining their families in time to go up for communion or a blessing at about 12. The service should finish at about 12.15 pm. If you need more details, please contact us – any age is welcome and any visiting children can join in too!
  2. Message from the Diocese: Good Friday, in the Cathedral - Three Hour Devotions on The Scandal and the Passion, 12 pm to 15 pm. Six addresses led by Canon Ian Ferguson of the new Westhill Community Church. If you are in Aberdeen, do drop in for all or part of this.
  3. Message from Jinny: Decorating the church - 10 am Saturday, 19th April. Please bring greenery and daffs. There have been generous donations in memory of those now gone which will provide lilies.
  4. Also from Sue: Kilombero rice - Following many requests, I am selling Kilombero rice again, in aid of a family in Malawi being able to send a child to school for a year. The rice is like risotto rice – absorbing stock beautifully, and will be on sale for £3 per kg bag. If interested, please contact Sue.
  5. Message from Vittoria: Open House at the Rectory - Please feel free to drop by on the 26th April for tea/coffee and cake. All are welcome, church members or otherwise.
  6. Message from Irene: Christian Aid Week – there will be a coffee afternoon on May 16th in the Victory Hall in Aboyne. Tickets are available from Irene or from the back of the church. Bakers have responded with offers sponge cakes, but alt least one more needed. Please see Irene in St Thomas' for more details.
  7. April Centrepost is attached below.
  8. And finally, a big Thankyou to everyone for the Passion of Christ last night. The Augmented Choir goes from strength to strength! So good to see the co-operation from so many different churches, including Rubislaw in Aberdeen which printed the service sheets. I understand also that at least two of the choir (two of our own regular choir) have been taking singing lessons, prompted in part by the demands of their roles. And the benefits showed. We look forward to the next event, a choral evensong in May.
