  1. Advance notice: on the 16th August there will be no service at St Thomas' or St Kentigern's – instead there will be an ecumenical service at Glenmuick Church in Ballater at 11 am, where Bishop Bob will be preaching.
  2. On Tuesday 28th June at 7.30 pm there will be a concert at St Thomas' as part of the Aboyne Deeside Festival. Philip Greene and friends (Andy Linklater, Richard Clark, and Bill Linklater) will be entertaining us with a varied programme from Weber to Gershwin to Vaughan Williams. Do please come and support this event. All proceeds will go towards St Thomas'. Win, Daphne and Anne will be providing tea and coffee. Anne will be making brownies and Win was seen buying cakes at the St Kentigern’s Fayre, so bound to be good.
  3. Another advance notice. Our Harvest Festival this year will be Sunday 20th September, to coincide with Aberdeenshire Doors Open Day. The church will be open afternoon of Saturday 19th September and on Sunday for the service and then through the afternoon. The theme this year is ‘Food and Drink’ which fits with harvest and the church will be decorated as splendidly as usual. Volunteers are needed to help with slots on those two days to make tea and coffee and be on hand in the church. There are quite a number of local venues taking part and there is a meeting in the Victory Hall Wednesday 19th August for us to meet other participants and ask any questions. If you are interested in getting involved, please let Anne know.
  4. I’ve been sent a summary of decisions taken at General Synod, attached.
  5. There is to be a Diocesan Communications day on Saturday 3rd October at St Devenick's Church Hall, Bieldside. It is likely that the day will run from approximately 10 am to 3 pm, and lunch will be provided. Further information about the day will be sent out. All are welcome to attend. If you wish to sign up, please contact us so that we can send your details (with any dietary requirements for lunch) to Mary McKinneil, the Diocesan IT officer.
