Notices:

  1. The next date for items for the Tattler is 14th September 2015.  If you have any articles for it, please give them or send them to Sheila Maxwell.  Also, if you have not paid your Tattler dues, please do so asap.
  2. St Thomas’ is participating in Aberdeenshire’s Doors Open Day on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September.  The theme this year is ‘Food and Drink’ and we are holding our Harvest Festival on the Sunday to coincide.  The church will be decorated from 10.00 am on Saturday 19th September.  We are rather short of people to do flowers just now and Jinny is away, so please help if you can.  If you don't want to do a flower arrangement, why not bring produce or tinned or packet food to place on windows and around the font.  All food goes to a charity; in the past it has been the Cyrenians and they appreciate tinned and packet food.  The church will be open on Saturday afternoon from 2 pm to 4 pm for Doors Open day, so if you want to drop things off then you can do so.  We’ll be serving coffee/tea and there is a ‘20 Questions’ Family Treasure Hunt based on features of the church which members of the congregation and any visitors might find fun to do too.
  3. On Sunday 20th we will have our Harvest Festival service at the usual time (11.15 am) - the collection will go to the work of WaterAid.  Then follows a Bring and Share lunch which Jo is nobly organising. The church will remain open until 4 pm and again tea/coffee will be available.
  4. We have a new carpet over the grilles in the nave and the church feels warmer as a result – or is that just my imagination.  This was used for the recent wedding and the wedding party generously left it in exchange for Warren foregoing his bell-ringing fee and our agreeing that they could take all flower arrangements with them. (We usually ask weddings to leave one behind.)
  5. Attached is Centrepost for September.
  6. Attached is a poster about the Diocesan Conference in October.
