News from Trinity Sunday May 2016

posted 23 May 2016, 02:04 by St. Thomas' Church Aboyne   [ updated 23 May 2016, 02:05 ]

Sunday 29th May    Please note there will be no service at either church this Sunday. There will be an ecumenical service at Crathie church at 11.30 when Vittoria will be preaching. You will need to be seated by 11.15. If you have a ‘blue badge’ you are able to park up by the church: otherwise you are requested to park at the bottom. Pklease share cars where possible. (Note from Ed.     This honour is in recognition of Vittoria’s hard and continuing work in the aftermath of the floods. I believe it is the first time a priest of the Scottish Episcopal church has been asked to preach at Crathie.)

‘Many thanks to everyone who helped at the Christian Aid Tea by baking, serving or buying tickets. We raised £790’ And many thanks to you too Jean for organising St T’s contribution. We all enjoyed the left over cakes on Sunday.

Saturday 4th June    10.00    Inaugural Women’s Prayer breakfast at Aboyne-Dinnet Church Hall. Tickets for the breakfast are £5.   Vittoria is the guest speaker.

On Sunday 5th June there will be a retiring collection in aid of the refugee work taking place in Aberdeen.

A number of people commented on the splendid flowers next to the pulpit. I believe these came from a local flower arranging group who raffle off the demonstration arrangement at the end of their meeting. We had the same good fortune at Harvest Festival last year.
